Patna University, Patna, Bihar, Results of BA, BSc and BCom Part I examinations are yet to be published. The examinations were held in the month of May. The Bachelor of Fine Art examination is still going on. PU examination pending examinations would be completed by the end of the current month. The pending examination results would be published by the first week of September. The results of these examinations could not be published in time owing to some technical reasons.


The delay in publication of examination results is mainly due to failure of some examiners to turn up for evaluation of answer-books. Appointment of fresh examiners takes time and the entire process of evaluation gets delayed. The examination section of the university has also been facing shortage of staff for the last several years, causing great hardship in the conduct of examinations, evaluation of answer-books and publication of results. PU conducts more than 200 examinations in a year and the number has increased considerably following the introduction of semester system.

Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi will conduct the fourth Students Global Aptitude Index (SGAI) assessment test in November , 2014. The SGAI will help students know their aptitude. Its questions will not be from the text books. They will only include psychological questions. The test is optional for students.

SGAI provides complete counselling through psychological measures to help students opt for different streams in Class XI according to their aptitude. When students pass Class X, 95% of them want to opt for PCM (physics, chemistry and maths), and later pursue engineering. But, SGAI would help the students know the area in which their potential is higher, Activities such as SGAI would help students scientifically know about better career choices for them.

Many schools in the city have already notified the students about the aptitude test. According to the CBSE circular, schools can register online for the SGAI test on payment of Rs 100 per student till October 15, 2014. Students can log on to the CBSE website, www.cbse.nic.in, to know the format and details of SGAI assessment test.
The CBSE also sends advocacy material in the form of Power Point presentations, teacher's manual of activities and posters etc to each school to hold SGAI orientation programmes in schools. Around four lakh students across the world have so far opted for the CBSE-SGAI during the last three years.
